Pilates:
Joe Pilates created this form of exercise some 80 years ago to reeducate the body and bring back uniformly developed muscles, as well as natural movement. Our studio offers individual private training on the Pilates equipment, as well as group mat classes. We can pair you up with an instructor and other clients to create a duet, trio, or quartet if you desire a cost-effective way to use the Pilates equipment. Our equipment is from Balanced Body and Peak Pilates.
You will gain many benefits from Pilates. Our clients see changes in:
Muscle tone
Strength
Focus
Confidence
Core power
Stress reduction
We encourage clients to commit to a three time a week practice that includes mat work as well as machine exercises. This work is excellent for athletes, older individuals, and all fitness levels.
"Pilates has changed my life. I have never done anything that has helped me so much. It is possible to feel younger." -Carlene
GYROTONIC®:
Gyro is the wave of the future. Julia Horvath created the GYROTONIC® expansion towers to bring playfulness and mindfulness into one package. The work focuses on movements the body naturally makes and adds traction to the work to encourage the body to open.
Gyro will:
Stretch your muscles
Promote coordination
Strengthen your core
Improve your golf and tennis game
Invigorate your being
Gyro is featured in Oprah magazine as the exercise to watch in 2008. You will start to see this work more and more as people become familiar with this machine.
"I've regained mobility in ways I never expected. After two spinal fusion surgeries, Gyrotonic has given me the rich, active life I've wanted. If you want to get strong or stay strong, you'll be going to the experts in overall body conditioning..." -Tiffany
Nia:
Movement can be a meditation, a release and a joyful experience. Our Nia teacher, Lynne, brings all three together to support her students to seek their bliss. It is an exercise practice that blends dance, yoga, and martial arts. Nia encourages:
Joyful movement
Mindful action
Agility and mobility
Zest for life
Dance, dance, dance
Nia is like chocolate, you must experience it. Be, dance, live, and love. You will go home rejuvenated, your cardio challenged, your soul revitalized. Come join us and see where you can go.
"I always leave with a smile, feeling centered and much more myself!" -Kerry
Yoga:
The ancient teacher of all mind-body practices. We offer yoga to our clients because it is the root, the mother, and the heart of all mind-body exercise. Pilates, GYROTONIC, Nia, and all forms of movement owe a salute to yoga with its focus on classic poses (asanas) and meditative qualities. Join us for beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes that will benefit your life, your sport, and your family. Yoga will:
Increase strength and flexibility
Open the body's energy channels
Relieve stress
Improve lung capacity and breath awareness
Promote the body's alignment and stamina
"I enjoy working with all the instructors. They acknowledge my weaknesses and inspire me and work with me to improve them." -Coleen
